SINGLE REVIEW: Drying Weather - Railwayman

Dublin four piece Drying Weather serve up an epic banger in the form of latest single 'Railwayman'.

'Railwayman' is a cascade of fuzz and up-tempo vibes. Infectious and endearing from the offset. The track features melodic distortion borrowing from shoegaze while also mounting into a crescendo of bolder disarray to indulge in a somewhat proggy eruption and Biffy Clyro inspired violins. The gritty, pulsating bassline sits alongside jangly, catchy but driven and distinctive guitars while the powerful drums bring the sound together.

The vocals are relaxed but beautifully rounded with a warm undertone. They're perfectly presented with just a hint of likeable nonchalance.

The lyrics take the listener on a ride through the high and lows of fame. The moments you're taken to giddy stratospheres and then ones you're in the darkest depth of defeat. Detailing the human nature of never feeling good enough or like you've made it despite appearing to be at the top of your game to those around you.

Blasting with a well balanced show of safe sounds and conceptual intricacies 'Railwayman' is epic in all senses of the word. Bold, grand and undeniably catchy Drying Weather are fresh, exciting and definitely ones to watch!
