SINGLE REVIEW: Danswell and The Symptoms - He Doesn't Care

Click Roll Boom favourite Danswell and The Symptoms (Dan Tanswell - they/them) says what the rest of us are thinking on their politically charged eruption 'He Doesn't Care'.

Raw and raucous 'He Doesn't Care' is two minutes of fierce, snarling punk. Distorted, fuzzed up and noisy. Dan's vocals are captivating and imperfect as they deliver the hostile notion that politicians simply don't care. The feeling that every time they speak normal folk just want it over, not believing a word of the complacently constructed bullshit they spew.

'He Doesn't Care', while lyrically fairly simplistic, channels the idea of corruption and superiority the privileged classes feel over the rest of us. Saying anything the people want to hear knowing they'll never deliver on any of it.

Dan's angry at the world they live in, frustrated by the fact no one is true or genuine. 'He Doesn't Care' gives Dan an outlet for their frustration and the raw, impassioned, somewhat disorganised presentation adds to the harsh impact of their words. Danswell and The Symptoms are the voice of the people, not afraid to speak their mind and convey their anger at a drowning, stifled country.
