SINGLE REVIEW: CLIVE – Convenience Fee

Hailing from Southern California, CLIVE unleashes ‘Convenience Fee’, a fiery track from their debut album, *Clive is Dead, Long Live Clive*. This anthem encapsulates the frustrations of a generation that feels voiceless in a world where greed takes precedence over genuine life experiences. The song kicks off with a borrowed line from Elvis, “Well, it’s one for the money, two for the show,” before diving into a punk-fuelled explosion of anger and attitude.

With raw hardcore punk bellows and DIY instrumentation, CLIVE embraces a rebellious, anarchic spirit that is both defiant and unapologetic. The raucous soundscape is loud and chaotic, yet it hits with precision, perfectly mirroring the modern world, rife with confusion and dissatisfaction. This bold punk anthem is a short but sweet “fuck you” to a society that seems hopelessly skewed.

Listening to ‘Convenience Fee’ resonates deeply with my own frustrations and anger towards the state of things. It captures the disillusionment that so many of us feel today. I’m super excited to hear the rest of the album, as this track delivers an unfiltered expression of rage that I can't help but connect with. If you dig punk and feel enraged by society, you need to get some CLIVE in your life!
