The album is available to preorder now from: https://timetokillrecords.com/collections/feldspar

To celebrate the release, the band will be playing a special album launch show on 23rd October at Largo Venue, Rome with tickets on sale now.

New single ‘18 Karat’ is a high-energy ripper that plays on stereotypes of success, the fleeting pursuit of it, and the deviations tied to the ongoing quest for public visibility and personal approval, sought a hundred times a day. Essentially, it's about designing one's life as a fairy tale and presenting it in the public arena to gauge how much social approval and clout we receive.

Musically, the track is a modern tribute to hardcore punk—it's direct, catchy, communal, fast, and sharp, with a chorus that leaves no escape: ‘he's a ticking time-bomb, tik-tok tik-tok.’

The song doesn't lack irony, as frontman Riccardo Zamurri highlights: "We want to criticise those who resort to endless filters, both metaphorically and literally; the filters of social platforms that force unattainable standards, fanciful realities, and success. How much human misery is there in all this? But at the same time, how much unintentional comedy does it produce?"

Recorded at Bloom Studio in Rome, and mixed at Nick Terry’s (The Libertines, Turbonegro, Kvelertak, The Stone Roses, Simian Mobile Disco) Black Valley Studio in Oslo, the album will be accompanied by the release of a fanzine curated by the band which visually narrates the concept of the album—the result of years of research, art, and living life literally “two blocks from the pope.”

FELDSPAR released the official music videos for lead single ‘Cobblestones’ and follow up ‘Dead Friends Still Alive’ earlier this year, with their incendiary take on modern hardcore so far picking up nods from DECIBEL Magazine, Billboard, New Noise Magazine, Vive Le Rock, Metal Hammer Italy, The Hard Times, Punktastic, The Punk Site, IDIOTEQ and more.

More info:
In the eternal city of Rome, where the whispers of cryptic ecclesiastical hierarchies still linger, Feldspar emerge as a musical enigma, delving into the shadows to unravel—with a certain dose of irony and creativity—the clandestine threads of power. Named after a mineral purportedly worn by a covert Roman clergy, the band consists of six eclectic souls working tirelessly to expose the elusive puppeteers who have shaped the lives of millions of people since the beginning of time.

Formed in late 2023 and based just a literal stone's throw from the Vatican, Feldspar style themselves as the “Godless folk two blocks from the Pope”. With their hardcore roots that also incorporate a myriad of genres and compositional approaches, Feldspar create high-energy music that’s also guaranteed to rattle around inside your head for days.

Their lyrics explore contemporary themes, often rooted in critiquing the mass commercial drift of Western spirituality emanating from the heart of Rome. The band also delve into the psychology of the individual, often transcending into imaginative realms, and champion mental health and adaptability to reality. Environmental concerns—felt to be an urgent civic duty by the band—find a prominent place in Feldspar's lyrical arsenal, and they regularly pay homage to the communities to which they belong, considering themselves an expanded collective with friends and nonconformist artists at its core.

In the intricate dance between sound, vision, and ideology, Feldspar stand as a beacon of authenticity, beckoning the curious to navigate the uncharted waters of their musical world.

Their many collaborators include Chris Wilson, a tattoo artist and illustrator for Combust, Scowl, and many other American hardcore bands, Guido Gazzilli's courageous photography, and Marcello ‘Rise Above’ Crescenzi's mastery of Roman art, whose exquisite illustrations further enrich the tapestry of the band’s creative journey and underscore Feldspar's commitment to a diverse and vibrant artistic community.

Over time, Luca “Solo Macello”, an exceptionally skilled illustrator and collaborator with bands worldwide, joined the fold. His cover for Salmo's latest album, which remained at the top of the charts in Italy for weeks, has become one of the most important artworks in recent discographic history. Most recently recruited is Nicolas Romero, an Argentine painter who, through his work with Feldspar, is exploring uncharted visual universes.

Feldspar are:
The band’s journey began with the legendary Andrew Mecoli, founder of the iconic Italian hardcore band Growing Concern, whose guitar riffs directly informed the spirit of the modern Italian hardcore scene. Joining him on guitar is Stefano Casanica, a prolific songwriter and producer, whose musical odyssey spans decades with undertakings in Undertakers, Craiving, Crude, and collaborations that transcend genres. Casanica's production magic is immortalised in Noyz Narcos cult classic 'Non Dormire', a cornerstone of Italian hardcore rap with millions of streams to date.

Riccardo Zamurri is the band’s charismatic frontman and creative force behind Feldspar's visual and thematic universe. With an imaginative prowess that has spawned countless artistic collaborations worldwide, Zamurri shapes the band's narratives and lyrical landscapes. Anna Pasolini, the rising star, brings her sharp vocals and musical sensibility honed in London, where her mother, the Academy Award-winning composer Rachel Portman, imparted the musical craft. Pasolini's environmental commitment as a dedicated scientist adds another layer to the band's multifaceted identity.

Completing the lineup are the band’s two anchors, Manlio Massimetti on bass and Luca Micheli on drums—seasoned musicians with unwavering rhythmic feel, who contribute to Feldspar's hardcore attitude and the myriad compositions that spring forth from their creative well.
