Bristol D-beat quartet Disciple B.C are pleased to announce their debut album Blood. Power. Sacrifice. set for release on 7th June 2024 via Scene Report Records (Fast Blood, Irked).

Recorded at Alpha Delta Studio, Bristol in September/October 2023 by producer Bri Doom (DOOM, Lazarus Blackstar), the band have revealed a video for lead single ‘Pray’ which is out now, a caustic first listen to their grinding, distorted, hardcore-infused punk rock.

Playing off religious imagery and subverting it in a way that has already been described as “pure heresy” by startled gig attendees, Disciple B.C are made up of a mysterious group of acolytes built around enigmatic frontman, vocalist, and self-proclaimed “faith healer“ Rev. Schnider.

With appearances at Boomtown Festival, already under their belts, the band will be bringing their sermon to Brighton Punx Picnic, Glastonbury, and Beat Herder with further live dates TBA.

As for their eccentric live show and origins, the story goes that whilst en route to a sabbatical in Somerset, Rev. Schnider decided to stop for refreshments at a bar in the village of Clutton, leading to a chance meeting with a mysterious figure known only as The Hammer.

Through a haze of alcohol and antipsychotics the Rev. decided to postpone his sabbatical and stay with The Hammer in his truck on a nearby traveller’s site. The Rev. and The Hammer continued to bond over a shared love of alcohol and Gregorian chants, whilst The Hammer introduced the Rev. to Scandinavian punk and metal. The Rev. stayed up all night alone, discovering and fixating on the 90s Norwegian black metal scene.

Believing the Norwegian church burnings to be current, the Rev. swiftly ditched any thoughts of sabbaticals and determined to persuade The Hammer to “set sail at haste, to heal the black metal community.”

The Hammer—possibly still drunk—agreed to help, and they left Somerset on a frosty February morning in a hand-painted black Vauxhall Corsa, armed with only a three foot metal crucifix, two litres of vodka, and the Rev.’s legally prescribed “medication”, heading for Norway.

In what’s been described as “a rough couple of crossings”, the Rev. and The Hammer mistakenly arrived at the port of Gothenburg broke, hungover, and with a “shocking comedown.”

Fortune smiled upon them as they met a couple of local street punks and—in what the Rev. says was a “robust cultural exchange” involving “a couple of drinks” and “stuff getting lost in translation”—the punks were recruited under the apparent belief that the Rev. and The Hammer actually wanted to burn churches back in England.

(It has been rumoured that this is, in fact, what The Hammer had always planned, however he remains tight lipped about this.)

Have these “poor lost souls” been duped into playing—and quite possibly defiling—their beloved D Beat to the Reverend’s inane ramblings? Or has the Rev. at long last met his match in his bandmates The Hammer, Saab Jonsson, and Kristofer Jakalsson?

Will the mask finally slip? Who knows? Who cares? But expect Blood, Power, and Sacrifice!
