The Layman Preachers take a new sonic direction once again with their latest release: ‘Run’

The Layman Preachers don’t seem to leave a stone unturned as they explore musical genres.  Not afraid to open any door with their songwriting, they have followed up the gritty three  chord guitar hero release ‘I Dare You’, with ‘Run’, a cinematic soundscape equally at home as  a movie soundtrack as it would be a standalone single.

“If we run from ourselves, is it any wonder we run from each other” says vocalist and  songwriter Heather Armstrong. “It’s as much a song about intimacy and relationships as it is  about humanity and the fact that we are all self-deceiving and running away from the truth of  who we really are.”

With its big industrial overtones littered with directional changes and mood swings, this  eclectic piece immerses the listener in a surreal journey through a dystopian soundscape.

Heather Armstrong and Corby Green began releasing music under The Layman Preachers  banner in 2022 after many years working both independently and together in various original  bands within the Australian music scene.

‘Run’, is the group’s tenth release to date.
