The Fods Return with the Completion of the "Don't ARgue" Project: A 7-Track EP Years in the Making

After 15 months of hard work and collaboration, The Fods have unveiled their completed Don't ARgue project – a seven-track EP spanning seven distinct styles. Originally a student band from a quiet Cheshire town in the mid-90s, Don't ARgue briefly gained local recognition before parting ways after a series of gigs and a memorable battle of the bands win.

In this project, The Fods have revisited their 90s-era songs, giving them a new lease of life by enlisting a host of indie talent. The EP features collaborations with musicians from their native North West England as well as contributions from Scotland, the North East, the South West of the UK, and even the US and Canada, with artists from New York, New Jersey, and Toronto.

Each track on the EP carries its own unique style while staying true to The Fods' distinctive guitar-forward sound. Here’s a breakdown of the seven songs:

Metal Dog – The EP opens with this industrial/nu-metal explosion, featuring vocals by Danny from Teddy Head and backed by The Fods Ensemble. It sets a noisy, chaotic tone for the rest of the release.

My Fine Derangement – A massive rock number that has become the EP’s most streamed track with over 37,000 streams. Vocals are provided by Birch of Go Birch, giving it a soaring energy.

You've Not Got Me – The lead single, this indie-punk anthem introduced The Fods to a new audience. Its raw energy and defiant lyrics mark the roots of the original Don't ARgue sound, with Birch once again on vocals.

Kickback – This rock anthem, a standout in the band's original live shows, builds and builds into a powerful crescendo. It's another vocal performance from Birch, adding to the EP’s rock-driven momentum.

Good Night's Sleep – Lighter in tone but darker in meaning, this indie track is a bit of a departure from the heavier songs on the EP. Vocal duties are handled by Fod Al, with backing vocals from Fods Ol and Rob, the latter’s contribution dating back to a 1995 recording.

Volumes of Silence – An indie rock track steeped in 90s nostalgia but modern in execution, this song features vocals by Jeff of JHM (Ontario) and MJ Adamo (Long Island, NY), giving it a broad, cross-Atlantic flair.

Easter – The EP closes with this metal track, a hard-hitting critique of hypocrisy. Featuring a vocal performance by Teddy Head and backing from Fods Ez and Rob, it brings the project to a thunderous conclusion.

The Don't ARgue EP stands as a testament to The Fods’ ability to evolve and adapt their sound, blending nostalgia with modern production. The diverse range of styles ensures each track offers something new while maintaining the band’s distinctive edge.
