TA GA DA: new single "Boy" + lyric video out now via Dischi Sotterranei

Shortly after their incendiary debut album This Is How We Dance, TA GA DA, the power trio from Dischi Sotterranei formed by Jesse de Faccio, Alberto Tex and Francesco Gambarotto, now returns with a groundbreaking new single entitled Boy.

In the wake of their first record, but already hinting at an evolution, the band takes up an early-millennium dance punk discourse and aesthetic, between The Rapture, The Hives and early Foals, with incursions into the recent British post-punk sound: the result is an explosive song, almost a liberating and cathartic motion with which they scream to the world their frustrations, through a solemn and obstinate chorus that collides with a killer rhythm section dominated by furious guitar rushes, always at full speed, completely in line with the TA GA DA brand that has made them a cult band for violent pogo.

The track also features an official lyric video inspired by old DVD player’s graphics, another step to immerse yourself in the 2000s mood. In addition, a polyphonic ringtone of the single has been made available, downloadable from www.tagada.band, which fits perfectly among the band's small tributes to the early millennium and to an aesthetic that has now, for all intents and purposes, entered into myth.

On May 25th, they will play at MI AMI Festival, a landmark event that opens the Italian summer music festival season. On June 1st, they will perform at Clutter Festival in Copenaghen. New gigs will be announced soon.

BIOGRAPHY

TA GA DA stems from the collaboration of three musicians active in the Italian independent scene for many years: Jesse de Faccio, already known for the almost eponymous artistic project Jesse the Faccio; Alberto Tex, founder of the label Dischi Sotterranei and the summer festival Arcella Bella; and Francesco Gambarotto, musician and producer mostly involved in the production duo Exit Exit (previously working with Post Nebbia, the aforementioned Jesse, Bais, and many others).

On November 17th, 2023 they release via Dischi Sotterranei their debut album This Is How We Dance, anticipated by the single The Weather Song, for which there is also an official music video. This record was born in the rehearsal room during the lockdowns for the Covid-19 pandemic. Resulting from the only moment of social interaction granted to the three musicians during that period, the album encapsulates the melancholy of isolation and simultaneously the desire for shared fun and release. 7 fast and intense tracks faithful to the dance punk school of the early 2000s but at the same time inspired by the work of new UK bands of the last six or seven years.

On May 10th, 2024, the new single Boy is scheduled for release, again via Dischi Sotterranei. It is also accompanied by a lyric video as well as a special bonus: the song is in fact downloadable as a polyphonic ringtone directly from www.tagada.band. On May 25th, they will play at MI AMI Festival, a landmark event that opens the Italian summer music festival season. Following that, on June 1st, they will reach Denmark to perform at Clutter Festival in Copenaghen. The calendar is being updated and new dates will be announced soon.
