UK alt-pop-punk good time rockers Skinny Knowledge release their amped up, slamming and in your face new video ‘Strike Out!’ The exuberant frontman and guitarist Andy L Smooth muses on the theme of the song, “What would it be like to go to a punk-rock show whilst suffering from heart-break, getting punched up, but kinda enjoying it at the same time? That’s the inspiration of this song and the question asked. It’s a “Yeah I know my life is kinda crap, so I’m just gonna go to a kick-ass punk show and take it out in the mosh pit” moment. Haven’t we all done that at some point?”
Co-written with Matt Bigland of Dinosaur Pile-Up, the track features on their incendiary sophomore album ‘twentytwo.’ which is available on CD/bundle to buy HERE. The collection of raw-high energy and personal songs delighted fans, gained new ones and garnered stellar reviews across the board with Classic Rock magazine featuring the lads and proclaiming “An enviable ability to turn out exhilarating and immediate tunes. 8/10.” and Rock N’ Load Magazine enthusing “A perfect slice of pop-punk-indie-rock pie! 9/10.”
“The album is a journal of my life through 2022. I’ve always written songs that are honest, and come from real experiences, no fictional writing. Every word I sing is a true story, and real feelings that I’ve been through. This album is no exception.”
The brightly coloured 4 piece have earned praise and airplay from a plethora of high-profile platforms including Planet Rock, Kerrang!, Classic Rock Magazine ‘Tracks of The Week’ inclusions upon 7 occasions, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and more. The lads have brought their effervescent live show to various venues and festivals gracing the stages of Teddy Rocks and the inaugural Maid of Stone in Kent last year to an emphatic ovation in a packed out marquee stage; “Frankly awesome, they ooze attitude with great energy!” Get Ready To Rock. The year is set to be a busy breakthrough playing 2 special co-headline shows with rising Los Angeles indie rockers Bittersweethearts at The Thunderbolt Bristol and The Cavern Freehouse London, festival appearances in Station 18, Love Rocks and Wildfire and more shows to be announced, tickets are available via the band website.
Grinning from ear to ear, the high energy cheeky-chappy Skinny Knowledge assures one and all, “If you haven’t yet heard ‘twentytwo.’, there’s something on there for everyone to enjoy. If you’ve ever been through a break-up, had any hard, difficult times and are feeling lots of mixed emotions, there is definitely something on this album for you, play it LOUD and we’d love to see you at a show getting amongst it!”
