SINGLE REVIEW: Weekly Round-Up 05/02/24 - 11/02/24

Chester Doom - Pull the Trigger

Emerging from the vibrant Halifax music scene, Chester Doom transcends being just a band, evolving into a rock and roll phenomenon. 'Pull the Trigger' seamlessly fuses the brutal, DIY essence of punk with the deep soul of Southern rock and rhythmic qualities of blues. Their sound pays homage to rock legends like Led Zeppelin and Guns N' Roses while incorporating a contemporary twist reminiscent of Tool and Linkin Park. The track pulsates with big riffs, killer hooks, and ferocious drums, driven by a sense of determination, while the vocals contribute a raw, soulful touch. Despite its concise duration, 'Pull the Trigger' stands tall as an anthemic and raging belter, offering an enthralling and exhilarating listen.

Suzaman - A Million Men

Suzaman's debut, 'A Million Men,' storms in with deconstructed riffs that rage, delivering a powerful hook and a grand 80s infused sound reminiscent of a robust Ah-ha. The vocals enter with a ragged, power, blending brash punk elements with theatrical art-rock tendencies. The track exudes just the right amount of swagger and a touch of pretentious energy, resulting in a fiery blast of passion and raw impact. It's a dynamic introduction, marrying intensity with a flair for the dramatic.

Amy

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (I’m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
