SINGLE REVIEW: The Manic Boys and Girls Club - We’ll Be Fine
Toronto based The Manic Boys and Girls Club consists of siblings Bela and Fernando Ferreria. The duo were raised in a strict Catholic home by immigrant parents before being sent to live in rural Portugal with their grandmother, a former nun. To the siblings the band is so much more than just music, it's an escape from a submissive existence. A club open to anyone who's a bit of an outcast, a misfit looking for somewhere they can belong and be accepted.
Latest single 'We'll Be Fine' is an iconic pop/rock track that reassures everything will be okay. It radiates positivity that we are not our mistakes, we all have a past and things we're not proud of but we can move on from them. We are destined to be more than our failings, we can achieve our dreams and everything will work out.
Mellowing and building "We'll Be Fine" is a pouring of pain and regret counterbalanced with zeal and hopefulness.
'We'll Be Fine' filled my heart with joy and reassurance from the first listen. It's up-tempo with catchy hooks and an anthemic chorus. Bella's vocals are delightful with a wonderful sweet tone. The sound is genuine and heartfelt. It doesn't feel like a band singing through speakers, it feels like a friend sitting you down in your darkest hour to tell you not to focus on the bad instead throw yourself into everything good the world has to offer.
Bright, infectious and joyful The Manic Boys and Girls Club are the perfect balance of musical performance with a structured sound and relevant, from the heart songwriting.
