SINGLE REVIEW: Cosial - Pool Chalk

Hartlepool teenager Cosial comes of age on her wise beyond her years dreamy, bedroom pop anthem 'Pool Chalk'.

Plodding and pensive 'Pool Chalk' captivates with lo-fi vibes and endearing sweet vocals which are beautifully layered to give the sound depth and added intricacies.

The song is a blossoming array of simplicity and complexity. Laid back chords, hypnotic vocals and bolder, fuller guitars teamed with thoughtful drums.

The lyrics turn their attention to realising truths as they confront her. The concept that people we once thought important have suddenly lost their significance. The idea that although some people we encounter might not kill the person we are, they stunt our growth and prevent us from developing and blooming. It's a journey of discovery working out those that fit in our lives and the ones who were never destined to stay long.

'Pool Chalk' is a beautiful track with a charming sound that despite the lyrical matter brings a warm glow. The mature songwriting is relevant and poignant. Cosial is an incredibly talented, exciting young musician who deserves to have a bright future ahead of her, definitely one to watch.
