SINGLE REVIEW: Samia Malik - Like a Gift (live)

'Like a Gift' is beautiful, reminiscent of Sandy Denny or Peggy Seegar. It's a stunning acapella folk song. A wonderful showcase of the power in Samia's sensational, rich voice. Truly soul-piercing with a captivatingly sincere sound. Sublimely emotional, the words exude warmth and provide a real moment of blissful tranquillity. This song carries a delightful nostalgic vibe, harkening back to the folk music of the 70s.

I believe the lyrics are channelling gratitude to God; however, unlike other religious songs, it's not obvious, so to a non-believer, they could be applied to anyone who provides comfort in the dark.

'Like a Gift' is a delightful, atmospheric listen that's astonishingly beautiful with a passionate, immersive soundscape and a true testament to Sami's incredible voice.
