SINGLE REVIEW: No Picnics - Your Stars

An attention-grabbing intro leads into an instantly addictive beat as 'Your Stars' blossoms into an infectious arty indie rock anthem. Theatrical vocals combine with a shimmer that carries a certain sardonic edge and C86 stylization of bright, breezy energy.

The guitars are perfectly jangly but sometimes angular and erratic, creating an endearing deconstructed DIY stance. It's wonderfully accessible but retains an underground vibe, evoking the feeling of a band playing in some basement venue just waiting to be discovered.

The drums pulsate as the riffs flow with chaotic beauty and punk influences, while the vocals never stray from their eloquent, flamboyant art-house ethos.

Amy

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (Iā€™m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours šŸ¤ŖšŸ˜œ) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
