SINGLE REVIEW: Kollision Course - Underground Calling

Paris' Kollision Course shine with indie nostalgia on their addictive new single 'Underground Calling' lifted from the the band's latest LP "Ether's Closure".

‘Underground Calling' is an excellent up-tempo bop along. Mixing arty Morrissey vibes with Pete Doherty swagger. Infectious melodies and buzzing guitars blend perfectly and balance playfulness with attitude.

The fuzzy distortion of grunge couples nicely with the nonchalance of indie and the pulsating energy of punk. Retro-inspired drawing heavily from the 90s and early 2000s with its eclectic, articulate, rhythmic yet somewhat intentionally half-baked, sauntering vocals that are characteristically comparable to The Razorlight or Arctic Monkeys.

It's a catchy listen with swirling riffs and a fresh sound. Shimmering with infectious hooks and a dynamic stance. My only complaint is it felt like it was over just as it was getting started! One listen definitely isn't enough!

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (I’m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
