SINGLE REVIEW: gimbal.lock - Fantasy

Hailing from Munich, Germany gimbal.lock are a quartet of music enthusiasts looking to captivate with their genre shifting, multidimensional sound that provides atmospheric energy and thoughtful songwriting.

Latest single 'Fantasy' is an uplifting track that encourages the listener to let their imagination come alive. Live in their own fantasy world not bound by the constraints of reality. A moment of peace from life's hurdles and the craziness of modern society.

'Fantasy' comes in on the calming soundscape of the sea layered with broken chords before temporarily mounting with an air of darkness leading to a beautiful dreamy sunshine sound intertwined with glorious jangling guitars and laid back drums.

The vocals are raw, somewhat imperfect but infitting with the tracks chilled out whimsical stance. There's a relaxed energy teamed with a retro indie sound that builds into a bolder, heavier noise for the chorus which introduces an oriental vibe.

'Fantasy' is an effortless foot tapper that takes the listener on a journey through their imagination, washing over with a sense of calm and heartwarming positivity. No matter how serious life gets, we all need to take a moment out to embrace our fantasies and live in our alternate dreamworld once in a while.

Amy

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (I’m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
