SINGLE REVIEW: Eastwood Haze - Queen of the River

Austrian blues-rock outfit Eastwood Haze taps into a rich, mellow atmosphere with ‘Queen of the River,’ a track that captures a laid-back yet hypnotic energy. The band’s sound is a relaxed kind of blues, but it’s far from sleepy; the instrumentation feels deliberate and plodding, a slow-burning groove that gives the song its melancholic weight. This sense of cool bluesiness is punctuated by dynamic guitar bursts that twist through the mellow backdrop, injecting a fresh vibrancy without disrupting the track’s soothing flow.

Vocally, ‘Queen of the River’ leans on a raw, soulful delivery that stands out amid the smooth rhythm. There’s something both rugged and heartfelt in the performance, allowing the emotions to come through with a warm authenticity. The track’s guitar solo feels almost like a crown jewel, soaring with a majestic quality that momentarily lifts the song before settling back into its chill pace. As the band layers these elements, there’s a hypnotic, almost meditative feel to certain parts that pulls you in deeper, making for a listening experience that’s as catchy as it is immersive. Eastwood Haze might just have crafted the ideal bluesy escape.

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (I’m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
