SINGLE REVIEW: Dark Side of Light - Hit Repeat

Dark Side of Light are the brainchild of LA based singer-songwriter Nik Frost and Drummer Grant Conway who are back with their first release of 2023 'Hit Repeat'.

The multi genre track is sure to have your foot tapping from the get go. It infuses a lo-fi, dreamy, jazzy sounds with the melodic-ness of pop. There's lots of playful ooo-ing to bring in the song which develops into a funky number with a vocal style notably similar to Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay. 'Hit Repeat' has some serious danceability with the air of mystery you find in trip-hop.

There's seductive drums, fuzzy bass and smooth, silky yet understated vocals. 'Hit Repeat' has a relaxed vibe but one that is certain to get people up on their feet.

Amy

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (I’m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
