SINGLE REVIEW: Beth McCarthy - She's Pretty

I love Beth McCarthy! Watching her Instagram videos she seems like she has a wonderful, totally genuine personality that shines through in her music. Bubbly and likable she's an excellent, authentic role model for the younger generation.

Her musical style is versatile and addictive, bridging the gap between rock and pop. Creating a sound that's accessible to anyone.

She's an endearingly confident voice for the LGBTQ+ community whose tunes can be related to by anyone.

Her latest single 'She's Pretty' pits vibrant synths with a disco groove against epic, powerful rock magnitude. The pop-inspired verse gets you in the party mood before the riff-heavy chorus erupts with its "fine, cool, she's pretty" chant. Beth's vocals vary from big-time attitude, cutesy and sweet to more vulnerable and emotional.

The lyrics play out the story of catching someone's eyes on a night out and living for the drunken moment. Knowing you'll likely just be a number to them and you'll probably never see them again but embracing your single status and going with the flow. A situation I think we've all been in, knowing in the cold light of day they'll probably be regrets but we are weak to the rush of the excitement in the here and now.

'She's Pretty' is an explosive tune that would fill a nightclub dance floor and also send a mosh pit wild. A charismatic sound, showcasing Beth's larger-than-life personality it pours with catchy hooks and big-time energy. Beth McCarthy is the very definition of talent. My single of the week!
