SINGLE REVIEW: Basavriuk - Howl

Puerto Rico's Basavriuk delivers an absorbing torrent of atmospheric noise on their bewitching new single 'Howl'.

Perfectly capturing the fuzzy distortion and dreamy soundscape of disoriented shoegaze, the track injects an element of new wave with electronic quirkiness, angular guitars, and jerky rhythms that truly bring the song to life.

The bassline drones with a grinding assertion while the drums placidly inspire beneath. The vocals are ethereal with hazy part transcendental tendencies. Cathartic and engulfing 'Howl' is an intense dreamscape of emotions, an absorbing sound you can almost reach out and touch.

There's an enticing sense of disarray. A mixture of feelings, sadness meeting happiness while battling against the angst-driven confusion of life.

'Howl' is a gentle, thoughtful, chaotic, immersive listen that will grip you with its presence and leave you wanting to hear more.
