SINGLE REVIEW: Adventure Playground - Alright Already

Adventure Playground brings us frantic energy, tongue in cheek lyrics and the full course of a relationship in less than three minutes on their party anthem debut single "Alright Already".

'Alright Already' kinda doesn't take itself too seriously but also kinda does. The words journey through the rise and fall of a relationship going from wanting to "fuck on the floor" to listening to The Cure to match the angst of when thing go wrong while also admitting to being sick of the doom and gloom. Moving on to getting "over the part where I miss you" to acceptance and feeling "free from the grip you have on me" to eventually getting on with life and going out with mates who are "super duper fun". I think it's got the stages of a relationship pretty much down to tee in a lighthearted, playful almost throw away manner.

The track itself is punky pop-ish carnage, chaotic but well constructed with a likeness to 'Basket Case' era Green Day. Up-beat, fast paced, melodic with mega hooks and a contagious energy. Their aim is to have fun and play kick-ass punk which I think they've achieved with their big, ballsy, dynamic, in-ya face, mosh erupting debut. Their debut album is due out later in the year and if 'Alright Already' is a sign of things to come it's going to be a frenzied ride for sure!
