Brit metallers, SILK SPINSTER, have released their thumping new single and video, MIDNIGHT LIFE. Harnessing an array of influences spanning from heavy metal and popular culture, SILK SPINSTER take from Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Slipknot, and combine the theatrics and engrossing visuals of Mad Max and Friday the 13th movies. The end result is an all-consuming musical experience complete with a gripping stage show that begs to be seen and experienced. Coming at you from Kingston Upon Hull, SILK SPINSTER were originally born in 2019. The intriguing four-piece, however, only solidified and sprung into life in 2022. Comprised of vocalist and leader, Kye ‘Kyrantula’ Coulson, Tom ‘Riff Lord’ Nolan serving up the licks, Will ‘Sinzz’ Styan handling the groove on bass, and James ‘The Boy’ Rokyckyj hammering on the drums, SILK SPINSTER are a band of ragtag misfits who are on the rise. The wasteland riff slingers have already played numerous shows at different Motorcycle clubs throughout the land, as well as bringing the house down at the RAF airbase in East Yorkshire. To date, the unstoppable four piece have played alongside a hearty selection of national and international touring artists such as: Victorious, Mother Vulture, Liberty Slaves, and Contortion (USA). Their recent appearances at Bloodstock’s Metal2TheMasses, where the band made it to the finals of the competition, have only served to increase their growing cult following.
SILK SPINSTER are primed to kick on further with the launch of their new single and accompanying video, MIDNIGHT LIFE, which highlights the foursome’s deft ability to deliver a stomping anthemic song wrapped around a dynamic structure. The band remark about the track: “This is an ode to horror films of the 1980s and other similar songs of the same period such as The Ripper and Killers by Judas Priest and Iron Maiden respectively. A fanciful tale of seeing red which keeps its tongue firmly in its cheek”.
The Brit metallers have further releases on the way and will continue with rampant touring along the nation’s highways and byways.
