John Pierce O’Reilly signs to Revolver Records - new single ‘Where No Storms Come’ out April 7th
John Pierce O’Reilly is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from London. Folk elements are blended with a diverse sound palette to create music that is at once deeply personal yet nebulous, and songs delicately woven with vulnerability, self-possession, and a haunting sense of melancholia. Written, recorded, and produced all from his student bedroom, O’Reilly’s music is characterised by its intimacy, affording listeners a space for solace and introspection.
Tranquil, touching, and with a sprinkle of sentimentality, singer and producer John Pierce O’Reilly quietly makes his presence felt via his latest EP of sepia-tinged songs of heartache and solitude. O’Reilly soundtracks trembling sunsets over wobbly seas, as he lets gentle trickles of effects flow under introspective vocals and instruments, with sparing echoes of James Blake and Mount Kimbie. It’s music to be heard in the late evening after a nightcap: a soothing, quiet nocturne for both the lonely and the loved-up (Hugh Morris - NY Times, The Guardian, VAN Magazine).
