Idle Tongues unleash new single ‘SIKE’

SIKE is the outcome of a 20-minute jam session. Initially springing to life when frontwoman, Natalie, showed the infectious bluesy melody to the rest of the band, it didn’t take long for the group to realise they were about to write something special, reminiscent of the likes of Western rockers Rival Sons and Dorothy.

The deceiving intro quickly assaults into the explosive chorus, showing off Idle Tongues’ dynamic apabilities. With attitude-laden lyrics and captivating hooks, the evocative rasp from the vocals drives the song forward whilst the steady bass and focused, high-octane drums lay down the foundation for the distorted, growling guitars.

Exploring the realms of infidelity, SIKE takes listeners through a journey of self-discovery and courage, helping them to take back the power over a devastating situation. With a heavy presence of sarcasm & a cold attitude, the track is about rising above and towering over someone unfaithful who now regrets their wrongdoing.

Laughing at their acknowledgement of the mistakes they’ve made, & regaining control with a sadistic mindset towards them through lyrics such as “Don’t make me laugh while I watch you cry” can only make fans sing along with a smirk of empowerment on their face.

Originally written and self-recorded in the band’s home studio in 2022, SIKE has since become a staple during their live shows and a key highlight for fans. In support of the release, Idle Tongues will be taking the song on the road for a mini tour across the Southwest in May/June.
