Hike The Peak Share New EP 'ETHER' out now!

After a short break from ep releases to focus on the monumental one off special set at the 2024 edition on Manchester Punk Festival in the UK we are proud to announce that HIKE THE PEAK are back! Better, faster and louder… ….with 2 brand new guest vocalists from 2 brand new countries joining the HTP family in this first two track release entitled ‘ETHER’ (ee-ther)

1/ Improving Situations - Colorsfade, CAN

Canada’s COLORSFADE released one of the best albums in the skate punk genre in 2023. ‘Built From the Wreckage’ released by Canadian juggernaut label Thousand Island Records was packed to the rafters with crazy guitar licks, catchy sing alongs all tied together with impeccable vocals and harmonies. I made no secret of my love for the record and when I contacted Vocalist and drummer JF Buteau he was genuinely excited to a part of Hike The Peak. Improving Situations is the opening track for the next set of HTP songs and it’s a belter that gets us going.

2/ Between Calamities - Still Gonna Bail, USA

Hailing from Colorado, USA, STILL GONNA BAIL’S sudden emergence into the worldwide skatepunk/pop-punk scene shows they’re a welcome a addition to the scene. Recently signing to Violent Weather Records the band continue to blast away catchy hook laden ditties. Front man Sean Stupski has been a fan of HTP since the projects inception and I’m not going to lie that his enthusiasm for being asked to do us a track was pretty humbling. I think you’ll agree that Between Calamities has quite the RUFIO vibe.

These first 2 songs of this cycle of releases will be released once again collectively as a multi-track album in 2025

Danny Cummings, front man for Lancashire legendary tech skate-punks FAIR DO’S and guitarist for BLAGGED, is in the producers chair again on all the tracks at his studio ‘The Propagation Station’ based in Leigh in the North West of England.

Hike The Peak also continue to have legendary mixer, producer, music biz guru and mastering afficianado Jesse Cannon (NOFX, The Menzingers, Limp Bizkit, The Cure, Dillinger Escape Plan) of Found Soundation in New York, USA to master all the forthcoming tracks.

IF YOU’RE UNFAMILIAR WITH HIKE THE PEAK HERE’S THE BRIEF BACKSTORY……

My name is Lee, I live in Sheffield in England. Covid lockdowns here hit hard, my mental health went south so i needed something to focus the mind....i decided to upgrade a lot of my audio plug ins and i decided to channel all of my efforts into songwriting and a project 'HIKE THE PEAK' was born......i can't sing for shit but i think i can write a catchy hook and melodies so i reached out to friends from my time touring Europe with my old band NO CONTEST to see what they thought......they thought it was cool. So I asked them if they were willing to write and record some vocals to these songs and I would in turn do whatever digital engineering leg work was required and then pass them on to a friend who is a professional mixer and master who would do his stuff and then Shazam i'd release them!

So starting August 2021 ep 1 was released and then every couple of months ive been releasing an ep with 2 songs on each…culminating in a 10 song collection…..so far were 2 down ASCENSION and ONLY THE TRUE FLY FREE are twenty songs featuring members from such modern skate punk luminaries GOODBYE BLUE MONDAY, THE AFFECT HEURISTIC, HOOF, CORAL SPRINGS, REBUKE, NO CONTEST, FOR I AM, THOUSAND OAKS, ONE HIDDEN FRAME, ACID SNOT, FAIR DOS, BLAGGED, KILL THE PRESIDENT, COMRAD, MELONBALL, HEATHCLIFF, SHAMES, PMX, LAUGHING IN THE FACE OF, THE MEMORY and FROM THE TRACKS.

‘ETHER’ is available worldwide on all digital platforms on  27 SEPT 2024 AND HIKE THE PEAK HAVE JUST BEEN BOOKED TO PLAY THE LEGENDARY PUNK ROCK HOLIDAY IN SLOVENIA IN AUGUST 2025!
