Giant Walker Release ‘Halcyon’ + Announce Album Release Details / UK Album Release Tour

Giant Walker are a Heavy Progressive Rock band from Newcastle, UK. After individually relocating 300 miles to further develop their craft, the Geordie quartet was coincidentally born in the South, bound together by their northern heritage and a shared love for bands such as Karnivool, Soundgarden, Radiohead and Deftones. Their music captures the many lows of loneliness and tips a hat to the music that gets you through hard times; sweeping you up in a conceptual journey, from giant riffs to melancholic melodies, and ambient soundscapes. Giant Walker have stitched together a sound, woven from the fabric of their influences, that can't be found elsewhere.

Giant Walker recently signed to Church Road Records. Following coverage from BBC Radio 1, Kerrang, PROG and lots more, the band now release new single ‘Halcion’ and announce their sophomore album ’Silhouettes’ will be out on the 20th September with physical pre-orders live, as well as also announcing a full UK album release tour in October. You can also catch the band on their UK tour with Future Static if you want to see them before then!

Guitarist Jamie Southern reflects on the creative process around ‘Halcion’, stating, “The initial idea for the song emerged from a drum groove, although it evolved through several different iterations before culminating into its final form. Sonically, it’s quite dark and angular, and so, when it came to crafting the lyrics, the aim was to encapsulate that feeling of uneasiness that came from the music and weave it into a story.”  He continues, “It just so happened that amidst writing the song, I ended up watching a documentary about a serial killer, which felt very fitting to the music, and so, this ultimately shaped the lyrical direction ‘Halcion’ took.”
