The UK’s Amber Saqladi returns as an unstoppable force of dark feminine power and heartbreak-driven vengeance with her third single, ‘Siren Song’.
“Break the heart of a woman and prepare for what’s to come” lyrically defines this feminine-rage-fuelled rock anthem. Written as a fun, empowering rebuttal to the criticism women often face when dating, Siren Song is influenced by both Paramore’s ‘Riot!’ and Taylor Swift’s ‘Speak Now’. The track was released on Friday the 14th of July through label HQ Familia, and was premiered on BBC Radio across the East Midlands the following day, with Dean Jackson interviewing Amber live. In the interview, Amber stated that she wrote the song to support herself and other women in "taking back” their sexualities in a world that largely views them as weapons either to be owned by men or used against them. Siren Song imagines a mythical ‘Siren-like’ character that uses her sexuality to seek revenge on all the men that wrong her, playing into this destructive female stereotype. Ultimately, the track was written by Amber as a fun way of dismissing misogyny and empowering women in their bodies. The song was mastered by John Davis (credits including Lana Del Rey & Led Zeppelin) and has been placed in the iconic Metropolis Studios’ ongoing marketing campaign.
Amber will perform Siren Song live for the very first time (along with many other of her original songs) at her highly-anticipated headline show at The Musician on Thursday the 27th of July 2023. GET TICKETS HERE
BIOGRAPHY -
“Amber Saqladi is a singer-songwriter from Leicestershire, UK, who has been building her career as a songwriter, music artist and live musician for the past five years. Her debut single 'Summer Rain' is a heartfelt narrative of a summer romance left in ambiguity, swaying between the bright sounds and storytelling of country music and the ethereal sound of dream-pop. It was released in September 2022, closely followed by her second single 'Save Yourself' — an energetic breakup anthem. Both songs received airtime and high praise from BBC Introducing East Midlands, with Summer Rain featuring as their 'Song of the Day' on three occasions. Her songwriting has always been strongly rooted within alternative-pop and country, and has recently begun venturing into rock: her highly-anticipated third single ‘Siren Song’ was released on the 14th of July. The song is a fun and powerful pop-punk sensation, centred around feminine empowerment and heartbreak-driven revenge.
Growing up with a vivid imagination and a strong love of poetry, Amber’s songs focus largely on translating human emotion into music through descriptive lyrics and storytelling. A large part of her artistry is based within empowerment; the vulnerability and honesty of her songwriting encourages her listeners to embrace their own
truths and express themselves freely. She writes music "to act as a voice for those who feel without one". To date, she has completed the writing process of a solo-written album as well as countless other individual projects. She is beginning to collaborate with a multitude of notable industry professionals nationwide, including the resident producers of the iconic Metropolis Studios. Her own presence within the industry is beginning to grow exponentially, with her social media pages attracting a growing fanbase through hundreds of thousands of views and the recent attention of Taylor Swift - who commented on one of Amber’s music TikToks to let her know that she loved the performance.”
