Eternal Echoes: Southern California's Heavy Rock/Metal band THE RIFT Explores Life's Perpetuity in New Album 'Metamorphosis' with Debut Single 'Grim'
Imagine if the Grim Reaper were an everyday person, with the concept of death merely constituting his mundane daily job—a perpetual curse that binds him. What would it be like to live indefinitely? These intriguing questions fueled our creative exploration and culminated in the creation of "Grim," the first release from our upcoming album, "Metamorphosis." This album signifies a significant evolution for our band, and we're excited to finally share it with our dedicated fans.
The lyrics of "Grim" draw inspiration from a variety of sources, including our profound admiration for literary figures like Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft, as well as the captivating essence of the Rolling Stones. Musically, our goal was to craft a piece that is both intense and anthemic, drawing influences from bands like Metallica, Muse, and Volbeat, with an underlying groove reminiscent of surf rock.
The track was meticulously recorded and produced at MooseCat Recording Studios by Mike Post, whose impressive portfolio includes collaborations with esteemed artists such as Alice Cooper and Rooney, among others.
