At the age of 10, Steve Herczeg – a.k.a ZEG – began writing songs; by the age of 12 he’d joined his first band!
An award winning, multi-instrumentalist, with a degree in Music, and a production / session CV which stems back to 1983 - Zeg has spent his life, living, working, and travelling all over the world; currently residing on Florida’s Gulf Coast, where he runs his own recording studio (Checkerbox Studios).
Zeg’s debut album - "Man Overboard" - was released in 2021.
He says “any album is a reflection of the artist at that moment in time – I produced it myself and had very specific ideas that I wanted to bring to life, but it took time to find collaborators who understood the vision, and could push it to an exciting level!”.

Inspired by stories from his life in New York, and sailing from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean - Zeg is a big fan of concept albums, and whilst he doesn’t class "Man Overboard" in that category, he does feel that it ties a lot of themes together, and characters and stories are intended to continue into future albums.
"Man Overboard" is an album of carefully honed, uplifting, guitar driven songs which Zeg has crafted to create his own distinctive sound. They bring together elements of progressive, blues and hard rock, shaping a modern soundscape of high energy, yet introspective studies of the world today.Personal lyrics and a powerhouse guitar blend together beautifully into an album that both intrigues and excites. If you need a genre to put it in then classic rock might fill the gap because classic says the songs can stand the test of time and rock comes from a passion for his art - a trait that Zeg holds steady to!
