Co. This release will coincide with the premiere of the trailer for her upcoming film ‘Pink Breath,’ the visual sister to her debut album of the same name, set to drop on August 30th.

Daughter Of A Drum is also thrilled to share that she will be performing at Ireland Music Week from October 3rd to 4th, further establishing her as a force in the music scene. Her performances are known for their powerful blend of contemporary dance and soulful music, promising an unforgettable experience.

A Collaboration Rooted in Queer Activism and Artistic Synergy

‘Space’ is a deeply personal and collaborative work, born from a serendipitous meeting nearly a decade ago between Daughter Of A Drum and Justin Vivian Bond at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre. This partnership has come full circle, with Bond’s haunting vocals perfectly complementing McAtamney’s, creating a track that is both emotionally stirring and sonically rich. The addition of Lucia Mac Partlin’s atmospheric fiddle and the sound of children in a school adds layers of whimsy and poignancy to the song.

About ‘Pink Breath’ – A Multi-Disciplinary Film and Album

‘Pink Breath’ offers a profound exploration of femininity, reclamation and self actualisation written over several years inspired by pivotal social movements such as Marriage Equality and The Repeal campaign. Here is a song cycle that resonates with depth and authenticity. ‘‘My Body is My Home’ is the opening line of 'Pink Breath' and its artistic thesis statement, collaborating with visual artist Choy Ping Ní Chléirigh-Ng to create a symbol for each song building a lexicon of freedom by Daughter Of A Drum.

‘Pink Breath’ the film is a visual sister to the album and Daughter Of A Drums bespoke take on the tradition of music videos. Directed by the acclaimed Wolf James, known for her award-winning work on Hozier’s ‘De Shelby’ and Jamie Duffy’s viral ‘SOLAS', this short cyclical multi-disciplinary film explores themes of sexuality, fertility and home. A profound artistic alchemy of dance, music, and written word.

The film is a collaborative effort, produced by Charmer Pictures and commissioned by Project Arts Centre for Project Portal. With script and dramaturgy by the award winning theatre company OneTwoOneTwo, led by Zoe Ní Riordáin and Maud Lee.
