BIO

Ever Elysian are a seven-piece alternative band on the Brighton scene, bewitching listeners with their evocative prog rock sound and enthralling live performance. Rooted in classic influences of the 60s and 70s, their unparalleled blend of influences appreciate Led Zeppelin’s bold classic rock riffs, the experimental melancholy of Pink Floyd, whilst indulging in the intricate folk touches of finger picking ballads reminiscent of Nick Drake.

Yet the emotive contemporary sound of the band is also evident through powerhouse vocals and nonchalant rhythms, walking a similar line of soulful R&B reminiscent to both the expressive warmth of Lianne La Havas, and operatic impact of Jeff Buckley.

The band’s journey has been unconventional, establishing themselves with the release of their debut EP ‘Elysian Fields’ in May 2022, which captured more of a contemporary R&B sound. With this debut, the band found their footing, delving into themes of relationship complexities and the euphoria of a passionate love.

Fronted by lead singer and guitarist duo, Anya Marsland and Toby Mason, the band’s matured sonic identity is now more than ever a collaborative effort, a credit to the vast musical interests of each member.

Anya’s vocals and lyricism offer a sultry flavour that takes the listener on a journey through vulnerability and empowerment, following a poetic narrative complimented by Toby’s guitar arrangements. There is a raw energy embodied within the band, both in live performances and within their production, that sets the stage for Ever Elysian’s atmospheric storytelling.

With Marie Freiss on bass, Brandon Lawton on drums, Will Hanco on guitar, and a blend of Lily Balmer and Zehra Guler’s backing vocals, Ever Elysian follows an introspective new path.

'ELYSIAN FIELDS'
