(30th August) Based between Berlin and Amsterdam, Cologne-born artist Luna Morgenstern fuses alt-pop heartbreak, with late '90s rave and early '00s club influences on "hush hush". The single is the start of a new chapter for the experimental dance-pop artist who is set to document a tumultuous time in her personal life through her next project.

As the storm clouds roll-in and the reality of what's about to happen hits, "hush hush" documents the beginning of this inevitable end and how hard it can be to let go. Luna explains "it's about the struggle of holding onto a fading relationship, despite looming doubts and uncertainties."

It's the juxtaposition of dance music with Luna's biographical, often raw and revealing, lyrics that are at the heart of both this track and what's to come with further releases. "I like playing with contrasting elements in my songwriting and production," she details, "whether that's blending four to the floor kicks with UK garage breaks or by contrasting a very heavy, direct lyric with a nursery rhyme inspired melody."

"hush hush" introduces this idea of contrasts with its reggaeton-inspired rhythms and breakbeats pairing. Written and recorded in a sleepy Spanish beach town where "there's nothing to do except going for a swim or drinking one too many cortados," it was here Luna shazamed tracks by Rauw Alejandro and Villano Antillano which directly influenced the sound of this record.

Today's release follows a series of collaborative releases from Luna and experimental creatives like Raven Artson, Ineffekt and Panteros666. The later reworking the title track from Luna's 2023 EP Dance Dance (Don't Go) which received praise and support in the UK, Netherlands, Germany and beyond. Described by CLASH Magazine as an "alt-pop maverick," Wonderland said "Luna Morgenstern is the kind of talent that can captivate with a single syllable" and Dutch national broadcaster 3voor12 declared her "the altpopster we need".

Luna is set to unveil more new music soon as she mindfully lets her guard down and invites you into the world she's been building over the last year. From visuals shot on black sand beaches in Iceland to songs written and recorded in a Spanish coastal idyll, Luna's sound is streamlined and her songwriting stronger than ever.
