The UK country music is forever evolving and welcoming new voices, and one of those new artists making a splash is the introspective creative talent Bergendahl who brings a fresh immersive soundscape to the scene encapsulating the escapism of music through her thoughtful storytelling, and impressive vocals.
Her latest EP marks a new era for the singer/songwriter who has solo written and co-produced every track featured setting a marker for future releases and showcasing that her artistry runs deep. There’s a fantastic synth-country vibe throughout that embodies the transition feel and allows Bergendahl complete creative freedom to ensure the record is everything she wants and needs it to be.
As an artist making country music in the UK, she has the creative license to play around with the sonic styles and she does that fantastically well within the four songs featured whilst embarking on a new chapter within her musical career, delivering a soulful and innovative tracklist that puts her on the map as “the next big thing”.
Touching on themes such as grief, relationships, and identity, Bergendahl has captured her life’s journey to date weaving through the subjects with a delicate ease, and imaginative lyricisms interlaced with stunning productions creating a wonderfully impressive EP that is thoughtful, deep, meaningful, and most importantly real.
Speaking about the project, Bergendahl says: “Releasing ‘Leafy Green’ marks a new era of my life that I've been looking forward to since forever. The title comes from the classic description of suburban Surrey where I'm from, but it also refers to my own relationship with creativity and encapsulates the lyrical themes of transitioning through stages of life, grief and identity, alongside nature and seasonality. It's introspective and emotional, and I'm so proud that it sets out who I am as an artist representing country music from this side of the Atlantic."
