York Indie-Rockers Mayfire Return With Soaring New Single 'Telephone'
Bailey, Hamish, Joe & David got together in their hometown of York and quickly picked up a large and faithful following to become what is now an accomplished young rock band, MAYFIRE, inspired by the likes of Killers, Wombats and Catfish & the Bottlemen amongst others!
Sold out gigs soon followed, as well as an appearance at the prestigious ESNS Eurosonic Festival in Groningen, Netherlands back in January which in turn is now to be followed by a run of shows in support of their forthcoming new single ‘Telephone’.
Four minutes of searing indie-rock that harbours an irresistible stadium-sized chorus that immediately brings to mind the aforementioned Catfish and the Bottlemen, it’s yet another bold step in the band’s ascent towards the top of their game.
Described by Mayfire as “telling the story of long distance love between two people determined to keep their love alive in spite of being thousands of miles apart in different countries, climates and cultures”, it’s a narrative that will resonate with all of us to some extent or another, and is yet a further example of the accessible nature of Mayfire’s inimitable indie rock.
Mayfire are:
Bailey Furman: vocals, guitar
Hamish Hunter: Lead guitar, backing vocals
David Porter: Bass, backing vocals
Joe Hildreth: Drums
