Canadian rock group YESTER DAZE’s signature sound, soaring choruses and righteous riff magic are back like a shot of nostalgic adrenaline with new single “The Ones Who Bleed”, now streaming everywhere. Carefully blending undertones of 70s Brit-rock, 90s style garage rock to today’s new rock evolution, the single leaves us asking two questions, 1) “Where is the repeat button?”, and 2) “How loud can this speaker go?” Produced by Matt Nozetz at Montreal’s Avbury Studios and mixed by Dave Traina (The Damn Truth),  the track comes off of the band’s hotly anticipated sophomore EP, Nothing, Perfectly, set to hit shelves everywhere on May 10th. In addition to the new single release, Yester Daze announce that they are ready to rock the block in Montreal with a special hometown EP release show on June 28th at Petit Campus following performances at Canadian Music Week and NXNE in Toronto in early June.

STREAM “THE ONES WHO BLEED” HERE!

Setting out to satisfy hungry rock audiences across the globe with their deadly combination of hard-hitting stadium rock and underground punk, Yester Daze’s “The Ones Who Bleed” is for those who feel there's nothing for them in this world, constantly being left out and alone with no one to check on them. This song is about trying to ground yourself, and accepting that those who once loved you may never think of you again. “The Ones Who Bleed” are those who are always told to talk about their emotions but always end up left behind by the same people.

“The soul of the song is that it has a similar feeling to legendary songs "1979" or "Walk", where you just feel nostalgic with a sense of loss. I picked up the guitar to practice and started droning the opening chord which became that opening guitar melody. The words flowed out as I started playing it and I just knew I was onto something,” explains vocalist Brandon McShad.

Last month, Yester Daze supported alt-rock mavens Hotel Mira and Fake Shark in Montreal and dropped their sizzling pop-punk anthem “Holy Moly (This Is Who I Am)”. The single was selected to be CHOM 97.7’s Big Shiny Tune of the Week, airing daily throughout this week, and was also selected as the Generation Next feature track on 94.9 The Rock Toronto which aired this past weekend. In addition to the incredible radio support, the track was added to several playlists at Exclaim! Magazine, Roadie Music, V13 Media, Square One Magazine, The Indy Review and more.

Whether they are playing in clubs, bars, near or far, Yester Daze delivers larger-than-life performances, pouring their hearts out and leaving it all on stage with electrifying energy and honest lyricism. Fans will have the chance to see the band live in Montreal and Toronto this coming summer at Canadian Music Week, NXNE and more.  All tour dates are below. MORE ON NOTHING, PERFECTLY:
Yester Daze’s Nothing, Perfectly, showcases the band’s relentless tenacity and signature sound, bridging the gap between heavy riffs and pop melodies. Their lyrics and penchant for creating rock ear-candy combine to form the voice of a generation. A generation who are lost in a sea of greed, wishing and wanting something better. Nothing, Perfectly inspires hope for tomorrow. This unique style permeates across the six-song EP, building and expanding on the musical foundations laid on their debut EP, Yours To Follow (2021) which garnered a treasure trove of national and international recognition across radio platforms and media alike with Soft Sound Press stating, “nothing gets you more excited about a band’s future than realizing they are capable of… literally anything.”

This past fall the group released Nothing, Perfectly’s first single “Going Nowhere”. Rounding out the EP as the final track, it was the first single to be released from this EP (November 2023). It’s an honest and vulnerable reflection of mental health and suicide struggles, rounded out with a hopeful, prevailing stadium-sized chorus. Mental health is an overarching topic, carefully and brilliantly woven throughout all six tracks. The EP title track offers a glimpse into slowly deteriorating relationships while single “Hanging by a Thread”, the heaviest both emotionally and musically, features wailing vocals from frontman Brandon McShad and guitarist Zach Lemay and screaming guitar solos to close it out. With powerhouse songs such as these, there's no doubt that Nothing, Perfectly is a strong follow-up to their debut, set to take these Montreallers to new heights.

MORE ABOUT YESTER DAZE
Forming in 2018, the Montreal-based band is fronted by lead singer Brandon McShad with guitarist Zach Lemay, bassist Marc-Olivier Bourdon, and Matt Ware on the drums. Fast friends, in the rehearsal space, the boys quickly recognized their natural chemistry and complementary musical personalities. The band’s music is packed with infectious rhythms that serve as odes to the past, the present, and the future. Yester Daze has found a unique sound by combining feel-good grooves and unforgettable melodies alongside high-contrast dynamics. Size doesn’t matter when it comes to their desire to rock. Since their inception, the goal has remained the same: light it up.

In 2021 single, "Backseat Bingo," catapulted the band to heavy rotation on national and international radio stations. Notably, the single achieved the #1 spot on PlayMPE’s Top 20 Streams & Downloads Rock Worldwide, earned the title of CHOM 97.7's Big Shiny New Song of The Week, and secured a place in heavy rotation on idobi Radio. The EP also garnered attention from numerous media outlets, including V13 Media, Girls At The Rock Show, Metal Devastation Radio, Radio Humber, Square One Magazine, The Brett Davern Show, Canadian Beats, The Gunz Show, Alternative Rock Press, Daily Rock Quebec, and Thorn of Rock, among others.
