Wild Nothing share anti jingle “Suburban Solutions”

Sweet oblivion for sale: Wild Nothing’s anti jingle for “Suburban Solutions” out now

Hold to be released October 27th via Captured Tracks

Wild Nothing shares a new track from forthcoming LP Hold (out October 27th), “Suburban Solutions.” Featuring his wife Dana and Molly Burch in a faux choir, Tatum sells a plea for self-improvement: an anti-jingle atop unabashed 80’s throwback synthpop, paired with an all new collaboration with Osmote Wines.

Filmed partially in the suburbs of Tatum’s very own Virginia upbringing, the video for the single — directed by Tatum and Josh Burgess of Yumi Zouma — satirises the incessant advertising Tatum experienced after having a child: imploring the viewer to sign on the dotted line, put their feet up, and embrace sweet oblivion.

Alongside the single, Tatum also announces an exclusive launch with Osmote Wines — a natural winery located in NY’s Finger Lakes terroir — who will release a special “Suburban Solutions” Riesling (and in the UK, Blackbook Winery will produce the bottle for lead single “Headlights On”). The wine will be bundled with the LP on milky clear & black split vinyl.

Says Tatum of the collaboration: "I'm really thrilled to be partnering with Blackbook and Osmote for these limited run bottles inspired by my new album ‘Hold’. Sergio and Ben are both so passionate about what they do and when this partnership fell in my lap it felt like such a special opportunity to bring people in on something else that I love.”

“We landed on a Riesling from Osmote and Sparkling Seyval Blanc from Blackbook, not only because they showcase what these guys do so well, but because they're also exactly the kind of crisp, dry wines I'd reach for myself when out at dinner or having a few friends over. Ian Miller, who designed the "Hold" album art, also designed these labels and we had a blast tying them into the larger visual world of the record."

Featuring contributions from Molly Burch, Becca Mancari, Tommy Davidson of Beach Fossils, Hatchie, his wife, Dana, and mixed by Geoff Swan (Caroline Polachek, Charli XCX) Hold marks Wild Nothing’s first new LP in five years, and Tatum’s first self-produced record since his 2010 debut (Gemini), acclaimed collaborations with Japanese Breakfast and Molly Burch, and becoming a father.

A direct reflection of Tatum’s enduring solo career and the growth he’s experienced over the last five years as a songwriter and collaborator, Wild Nothing’s return has already been celebrated by the likes of FADER, Pitchfork, Stereogum, and more, who praised lead single “Headlights On” as “an excellent comeback cut” (KCRW) and “a throwback disco-pop gem” (FLOOD) that “tips listeners off to Tatum’s new electronic influences” (Consequence). Wild Nothing will be on tour in the US this November to celebrate the release of Hold, including an NYC show at Music Hall Of Williamsburg and an LA set at the Fonda Theatre – full dates below.

Praise for lead single “Headlights On”:
“Euphoric. Tatum, joined by Hatchie on backing vocals, bounces across a Balearic-style beat as the release offered by club-centric music sparks memories of better days and provides hope for the future.” —FADER

“[“Headlights On” is] a throwback disco-pop gem built around an infectious synth line and swinging percussion.” —FLOOD

““Headlights On” tips us off to Tatum’s new electronic influences with metallic percussion and synths. With Hatchie’s Harriette Pilbeam providing backing vocals, the duo offer a darkwave pop song as Tatum kicks into the otherwise-melodic chorus.” —Consequence

“The soul-baring lyrics in this energized, ‘90s dance-tinged truthy track are an honest take on a rough patch in a relationship. Enjoy plucky percussion, faraway synths, and a big ol’ declaration of love and devotion in this excellent comeback cut.” —KCRW
