(13th September, 2024) Today, independent artist and rising star, CATTY shares her brand new single "Actress". The latest taste of her forthcoming debut EP set for release next month.

Bold, brash and mad as hell, it's everything CATTY's ever-growing fanbase has come to expect from the London-based, Welsh artist who's spent the summer carving out her niche as one of the UK's most exciting newcomers. From her sold-out debut headline show to opening for Stevie Nicks at BST Hyde Park, CATTY has been working hard behind the scenes putting the finishing touch to her upcoming project.

"Being mean doesn't make me feel good," CATTY explains, "and this song was written, because I didn't have anything nice to say about this person. They made lying to me look effortless and that is honestly a talent. It makes me deeply uncomfortable to upset people and it's infuriating because I've let a lot of stupid people get away with stupid sh*t I wish I hadn't," she adds.

In the context of her latest run of singles, CATTY says "it follows the same time... if you act against me I will not be part of your downfall, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't secretly hoping for it."

From the hopeful "Healing Out Of Spite" through to the seething "I Wish I Gave You Hell", CATTY covers a lot of ground with her biting lyrics and unapologetic take downs. Doubled with her writing's emotionally tumultuous subject matter CATTY's distinct sound is solidified across the project as her relationship with her fans is further strengthened. Her largely unfiltered lyrics about relationships and navigating life as a queer woman and her candid approach to social media sees CATTY invite everyone into her chaos.

Drawing inspiration from the '70s and '80s, legends like her beloved Stevie Nicks and Billy Idol, as well as queer trailblazers like St. Vincent, CATTY's distinctive powerhouse vocals and emotional songwriting pack a heavy punch. This upcoming project is for anyone who has ever doubted CATTY.
