Wax Mekanix shares single ‘Pillars of Creation’, album “Psychotomimetic” out Sept 8th
Wax Mekanix: "Pillars of Creation”
The first track from Wax Mekanix’s new album, "Psychotomimetic", from Electric Talon Records.
“Celestial, mystical, sacred. A heavenly dance. The pillars are sparking creation. Through chaos and chance”
~Wax Mekanix~
As if a famous pop quartet placed a laced sugar cube on his frontal cortex, Wax has audaciously twisted, stretched, and turned inside out this retooled version of a familiar delicate melodic nugget.
He passes us through a phantasmagorical wormhole constructed of snarling guitars, slamming drums, and howling vocals in a 21st century tale of an interstellar voyager lamenting escaping a withering home in search of a more bountiful world.
A psychedelic case of cosmic buyer’s remorse…” Canaan is near, Eden is here”

Wax Mekanix: "Once Upon A Lie”
Wax Mekanix has returned with a new single and video.
The second track from his new album, "Psychotomimetic", from Electric Talon Records.
“Once Upon A Lie”
“Who vets the proctor? Watches the watcher?”
“Nothing shocks us inside the killbox”
~Wax Mekanix~
Driven by a deceptively satisfying ominous thick groove that’s punctuated by serrated melodic guitars, mysterious vocals, and a slamming rhythm section, Wax offers the trippy perspective of the masochistic ‘lied-to’.
In a voice meaningfully different from the urgency of 2020’s “Mobocracy” and 2021’s “Blunt”, his 3 minutes and 22 seconds truth experiment illustrates the duality of the insatiable global masses for exponentially increasing deep fakes.
He offers up the notion that people are not innocently duped by overwhelming misinformation. Wax slips into the skin of those who willingly court intellectual and spiritual immolation just to see how it feels. He is no neophyte. He’s sober, wide-eyed, accepting, and welcoming toward the endless torrent of prevarication. Curiously resolved to experience the inevitable fallout of the ebb and flow of truth vs. lies.
Wax leaves us with a parting lyrical wink of, “I’m on to your jive. Cons breed your demise”. Is that for the liar, the lied to, or both?

WAX MEKANIX: “PSYCHOTOMIMETIC”
FFO: Black Sabbath, The Beatles, Neil Young, Cheap Trick, Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys
Wax Mekanix resurfaces in 2023 with a blisteringly heavy, trippy, kaleidoscopic, disconcerting set of songs that defy genre, and comment on the times he creates in.
"Psychotomimetic"
Def: of, relating to, involving, or inducing psychotic alteration of behavior and personality...
True to his shapeshifting reputation, it sounds as if he’s invited Black Sabbath, The Beatles, Jack White, and The Beach Boys into his recording sessions to make an album together. With a mission statement to continue his conversation with his audience, Wax has constructed sonic and thematic connective tissue joining Psychotomimetic to 2020's Grammy balloted classic rock-infused Mobocracy, and then to the thunderous, tribal, groovy, organic howl of 2021's Blunt.
The "Psychotomimetic" songs seem to span time and suspend it. Simultaneously, the tracks reference the familiar past, speak to the tumultuous present, and contemplate the unknown future. "I once got some advice, 'just be yourself'. That was good advice until I thought, 'which one?'" - Wax Mekanix, 2023
