Vic Da Looper releases new single ‘Gata Negra’ - out 01/09

Multi-instrumentalist Vic Da Looper returns with his unique craft of songwriting and superb production. This is, following 2022's critically acclaimed “Amor Delusion Institution”. His next album release “Cat Sounds” picks up where “Institution” left off but with a new subjective focus. All songs are still looped and layered continually with haunting instrumentation and strange yet catchy layered vocals.

In his new one, there’s a tweaked progression of his eclectic style of psychedelic, shoegaze, Indie Dance, genre cocktail. The fact that it’s hard to describe attests to the unique style that has been missing from the Indie alternative music scene genre. The first single “Gata Negra “which translates to “Black Cat” kicks off this ambitious concept album. All eleven songs on the album revolve around actual Cat speak sampling, and cat perspective themes, that are very human in nature. If you are obsessed with cats, this album will quench that fascination. The first single, titled “Gata Negra”, draws you in with a hypnotic cat voice sample that develops into a full sexy, slow groove. Everything falls into place perfectly with the electronic synth and catchy yet complicated guitar rhythms in the background.

Atmospheric melodic vocals interplay with haunting cat sounds that create a spectacular dream Pop mix of Shoegaze and 80s nostalgia. By the end of the track, you’ll feel swept away with one question, “Where has this music been all my life?”. It will leave you curious and wanting to hear what other cat themed pieces make up Vic Da Looper's brave and daring production of “Cat Sounds”. Give your ear to the new single, and all the other BiSpecies tracks. Enjoy.

‘Gata Negra’ is a fascinating listen. Trippy, psychedelic, confusing, erratic, noisy - I must admit, for most of the track, I had no idea what was going on! I like its fearless experimentation; it’s a complex soundscape of structure, confusion, and random cat sounds! Intriguing, mystifying, and just downright bizarre!
