VANARIN: out now new single "A Fly On The Wall" via Dischi Sotterranei, first excerpt from third album
A Fly On The Wall is the first single off the highly anticipated third album by VANARIN, psych-pop band with Italo-English roots known for its intense live activity on relevant Italian and international stages, where they have performed alongside the likes of Thurston Moore, Public Image Ltd and Battles.
Always seeking a multifaceted groove, with this new track they reconfirm their catchy attitude with dragging rhythms, between disco-funk and 2000s indietronica, all embellished with nu-soul influences. Prominent names that have made this crossover one of their prerogatives immediately come to mind, such as Hot Chip, Phoenix and Tame Impala. The result is a very accomplished minimal-electro experiment that winks at "black" atmospheres contaminating them with lysergic details, without ever losing sight of the clubbing mood.
A sparkling song capable of setting to music the «confidence in being idle, watching the world from the sidelines», which fits well with the summer that has just arrived and, at the same time, demonstrates how a good dose of technique combined with talent and creativity beyond all limits is capable of generating kaleidoscopic works such as this one, a shimmering little gem with an irresistibly infectious vitality.
BIOGRAPHY
VANARIN is a Anglo-Italian psych-pop band that was formed in July, 2016, by David Paysden, Marco Sciacqua, Massimo Mantovani and Marco Brena. Their style of music is best described as a combination of psych-pop and rock. The band has currently two EPs and two full-length albums under their belt, playing more than 150 gigs participating in big festivals like MI AMI Festival, Siren Festival and Radio Onda D’urto in Europe and Zandari Festa and LUCFest in Asia opening for various international acts such as Battles, Thurston Moore, Public Image Ltd, Yellow Straps, The Rodeo, Silica Gel and HYBS.
The band has two EPs and two successful albums to its credit so far, Overnight (2018, Woodworm) and Treading Water (2022, Dischi Sotterranei).
On June 26th, 2024, a new single titled A Fly On The Wall is scheduled for release via Dischi Sotterranei. It is the first excerpt from the band's highly anticipated third album.
