Today Indie rockers Hollow Graves criticizes the dishonesty of self-publicity on “High Exposure”
Hollow Graves has been making waves in the Toronto music scene since 2018. Their music blends indie rock, post-punk, shoegaze, and features atmospheric guitar work, pulsating bass lines, powerful drumming, with expressive and haunting vocals.
Their song “High Exposure” is about the temptation to lie and hide one's true self when faced with high praise and fame, and the pitfall of dishonesty on personal growth and self-discovery. In a world where self-publicity has become the biggest habit in an artist’s career, we all notice the intoxicating effects of attention and fame on a person's behavior and choices. Hollow Graves wanted to touch on that in “High Exposure” because it’s very prevalent in the artists we see online today.
