To celebrate the arrival of their new female singer, Ezalyr, Once Upon the End announce the release of two single tracks

THE PROJECT

Five modern bards wander the post-apocalyptic wastelands... The band, wearing ragged outfits, takes you on a journey towards a near future, a cautionary tale against climate and social inaction.

Founded in Paris in 2016, the band defies categories to deliver a music adding each member’s own musical taste. In Flames could be the backbone of a creature called Once Upon the End, with Opeth and Avatar as arms, Cradle of Filth legs, a Death head with a Jinjer eye and an Igorrr tumor.

RELEASES

An old forgotten demo, We Are the Dead, has at last been finished, with the help of the original guitarist and composer of the band, now playing in his own musical project: Claustra.

Be prepared for some two-voice Melodic Death Metal piece!

RELEASE DATE: 15/12/2023

With Ezalyr as their new singer, Once Upon the End recorded Dying Concrete, an old song often played live, remade to match 2023 OUtE. The single track was released in 09/2023, along with a music video

depicting post-apocalyptic living conditions.

With their first album (The Next Chapter, 2021) Once Upon the End explored the broken pieces of their post-apocalyptic universe and their multiple musical influences. The band now takes a little break making camp and going back to their Melodic Death Metal roots.

"OUtE achieved to stay really dark and progressive at the same time, giving really catchy songs.”

UNIVERSE

Just before the apocalypse, the world was a digital dystopia ruled by Overseers who had transformed the population in hollow shells. Then, civilization collapsed for obscure reasons from rival wars to global

warming, or the rebellion of some people fighting for freedom. The offsprings of these rebels now dwell in the ruins of megalopolis, whereas the countryside areas have become lifeless deserts.

Those people are free but violent, and they suffer attacks from Hollow Men sent by the surviving Overseers, hidden in their bunkers. In this nightmarish world, the moon has been corroded by excavations, the sun is hidden behind a crimson atmosphere, and the rain is deadly.

Dying Concrete is the last testimony of the great collapse. We bear witness to the destruction brought on by the years of abundancy and carelessness.

We Are the Dead is an ode to survivors, who slowly succumbed to despair, and became hollow beings.
