"Tintoretto gives you a prime example of why PUNK might be the best genre description ever, because genres are so difficult. But Punk is an attitude and Tintoretto’s attitude surely was/is “all systems go” - Veil of Sound

Tintoretto, the embodiment of Milwaukee's underground noise rock scene, is set to unleash their self-titled LP, slated for release on June 7, 2024. With a raw and unfiltered approach, Tintoretto's music delves into themes of death and art history with haunting ballads.

Back in the 90s', in a whirlwind of musical fervor and creative energy, Tintoretto emerged from the ashes of Managra, a dynamic six-piece ensemble steeped in mathy, screamo influences. Shane Hochstetler, Billy Zientara, and Mike Batzler, former members of Managra decided to embark on a new musical venture, enlisting friend Bill Kutsch from Stella 440 to complete the lineup and explore the darker realms of sound.

Reflecting on the enduring influence of these sonic pioneers, Justin Nardy, owner of Expert Work Records and longtime friend, reminisces: "Tintoretto killed every night and definitely turned heads... Their music always stood out to me." Justin's 20-plus-year relationship with the band underscores the depth of their friendship and mutual respect.

"I have always been influenced by Milwaukee and the amount of cool bands/music that came out of there. From 1996-2010 that city was unmatched by the amount of music coming out of it. But I always had a connection to Tintoretto and that group of guys," Nardy reflects.

In Justin's words, "I have always had a connection to Tintoretto and that group of guys... I believe in their music and think people need to hear it." With Justin's unwavering support and the collective vision of Tintoretto, this LP promises to be a seminal moment in Milwaukee's musical legacy." After years of anticipation, Tintoretto's self-titled LP is finally ready for release. Recorded with uncompromising fidelity and produced with meticulous attention to detail, the album captures the raw energy and unbridled creativity that define Tintoretto.

Tintoretto's self-titled LP is coming out this June 7 via Expert Work Records / American Handstand Records. Pre-order the album here.
