Fast rising Derbyshire rock 'n’rollersThese Wicked Rivershave announced details of a second single ‘Force of Nature’, lifted from the upcoming album of the same name. The track, due on November 10th, continues the tradition laid down by debut single (and Planet Rock playlist favourite) ‘Black Gold’ – uplifting, triumphant, unashamed blues rock with a bellowing chorus that just begs for a communal sing-along at the band’s raucous live shows.

The track is supported by a brand new video which sees frontman John Hartwell transformed from fauna to flora in nightmarish fashion, and stands as a flagbearer for These Wicked Rivers’ hi-octane rock sound that defines their second full length studio album, following on from 2020’s ‘Eden’. On tour across the UK in December, the band’s Derby show sold out weeks ago, leading to the announcement of another show in the town in January 2024, dubbed the ‘These Wicked Rivers Family Gathering’. Incredibly, that show also sold out, and in less than five hours flat to boot.

Preaching a simple gospel of ‘peace, love and lampshades’ (a reference to the bands intimate stage set up), These Wicked Rivers have toured the length and breadth of the UK with the likes of Hayseed Dixie, Those Damn Crows, Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons and Kira Mac, building a devoted fanbase and gaining converts in every town and city they play. Now signed to the freshly minted Fat Earth Records label, the band are planning to unleash their new record in March next year. Before that, a Planet Rock sponsored tour in December beckons, with special guests The Karma Effect.

Vocalist/guitarist John Hartwell says of the new single:
“To me, this song is almost like a pep talk to myself, or to whoever’s listening, saying “You can do this”. It’s about not living in the past, regretting things that you can’t change, but moving on, moving forward and taking on the world because you are a force of nature!”

Guitarist Arran Day adds: "Anyone that's caught a live show this year will know the power this song has. It's become a staple of how we open a ‘Rivers show as it showcases everything we do as a band.
It encapsulates that feeling of when we step out on stage and see the ‘Rivers family looking back at us, ready to collectively blow the roof off whatever venue our chapel is for that evening.
We were really passionate that we wanted the album recordings to express that power and connection that we all feel when we play live, and this is one of the highlights of that. Make sure to listen to it loud, as if you're standing at the front row of a show".

Collectively These Wicked Rivers are aiming for the top. Described by Classic Rock Magazine as “The sound of what might’ve happened if Clutch got a bit stoned with Audioslave and Zakk Wylde – and then jammed late into the night”, the band blend subtle blues touches with a hard rock edge, adding soulful vocals to create a sound that is as dramatic as it is exhilarating.
