The Tale Untold to release album “Counterculture” on 15 November 2024

"As a world descended into darkness, chaos, and confusion; truth, peace, and thought disappeared as antiquated ideas. Those who harbored hate were exonerated, those who spread peace were silenced. Tyranny masqueraded as compassion and hopelessness infected humanity. In this world, truth had become counterculture. However, the people are resilient. As the silent rediscovered their voices, the light of unity pushed back the darkness. Order abolished chaos, and clarity dissolved confusion."

"Show Me" begins teetering on the cliff-edge of despair: "[w]hen you are begging for a sign that you’re not alone. It encompasses a feeling of being in the depths of depression, but not hopeless. This is the beginning of discovering that things could be better." This riff-heavy and guttural onslaught unleashes blasts of power while the soaring chorus hook reveals that not all hope is lost. Aggressive hits of rebellion strike with grooves and electronics in "Burn It Down", while "Dream" (ft. Jordan Rush) focuses on the light. This track is a message that conveys how "[a]nything is possible with manifestation. The reality might be negative, but you can break that reality with your actions. You don’t have to adopt confusion when you have a solid foundation. Believing in yourself can achieve more than you could have ever thought."

The allure of temptation is all too appealing in "The Craving". One of the more pop-leaning songs on Counterculture, the dichotomy between the musicality and darker lyrical subject makes it all the more disturbing. "Devil's Doom" "is a darker track full of vocal layers and uneasy frequencies. The song was written with the intent of having an Argent Metal experience, but quickly transitioned into its own intentionality." Continuing in the same argent metal vein, "God Complex" runs with a driving momentum, guttural vocal layering and subtle operatic parts throughout emphasises the unease. "God Complex" "is about overcoming the rumors and expectations put forth by someone who wants to take you down. Realizing that everything they say about you is a reflection of them."

The thunderous "All Time High" embodies the theme of Counterculture: "All Time High is an ironic title for the song.  We have everything we could need including access to luxuries beyond your imagination. However, the vast majority of the population is unhappy and unsatisfied. We watch the privileged few enjoy their lives through a screen and give up our own aspirations. It seems that all of the unobtainable luxuries have only dragged us down."
