The Sound Of A City: York
Showcasing music from around the UK, here we bring you York!
York or Jórvík, known to Norse of the past, is one of the most famous and oldest cities in Yorkshire. Rich in ancient history and adorned in 13th century architecture, York is home to the grandest piece of York Minster Cathedral. Tourists around the world flock to experience the mysteries of ghoulie ghosts and wicked witches to the bloody brutality of Romans and Vikings.
Not to mention the unique shopping experience and wonderful treats of the famous crooked Shambles market alley!
Little do people know that lies within the great walls surrounding the city (and the homely modern ones) is a whole world of music waiting to be discovered. So curating a list of all the bands I have seen at various venues and with in-depth research, I have created the master playlist for the Sound Of York, with new independent rising artists and some established classic names.
In this playlist you will experience the Alt and Hard rock Gritty sounds of YouVee. The flirty romantic and revenge kicks from The Rosettas. Progressive hardness from Hunter-Gatherer.
The catchy and sassiness of KissKissKill with the classic Paramore-esque 2000’s style. Dreamy Sparkly Folk Pop from Mayshe- Mayshe and Electrifying and fresh classic 2000’s pop-punk from Heartsink.
