NEW SINGLE 'YOU'LL NEVER BE MINE AGAIN' FEAT. THE DETROIT COBRAS OUT NOW
NEW ALBUM 'ONE RIDE' OUT ON 6 SEPTEMBER VIA WILD HONEY RECORDS
The Peawees will release their new album 'One Ride' on 6th September via Wild Honey Records.
Today, they share album closer 'You'll Never Be Mine Again'. The Peawees' Hervé Peroncini wrote the song for The Detroit Cobras. The lyrics result from conversations between him and Rachel Nagy, The Detroit Cobras' lead singer, who sadly passed away in 2022.
Her death was so shocking that the song was long forgotten until the band impulsively decided to record it right at the end of the new album's recording session. In keeping with the song's spirit, The Peawees invited guitarist Mary Cobra to contribute. The result is a heartfelt soul gem, full of love and memories of an incredible talent lost too soon.
Hervé recalls: “After the Peawees/Detroit Cobras tour in 2019, Mary asked me if I wanted to try writing some songs for the Cobras. During the pandemic, Rachel and I spent months sending each other 60s soul stuff we loved. In "You'll Never Be Mine Again", I tried to put into music and words what she had told me she was going through at that time. After we lost her, I almost forgot about that song and never thought of recording it with the Peawees. While we were in the studio the guys insisted on giving it a chance. We laid it down and then got the idea to invite Mary to close the circle by adding her finishing touch to the guitar tracks”.

The band have previously shared three tracks taken from the upcoming album: 'The Wolf', a powerful song that meanders between garage, rock'n'roll and soul, all served with a modern touch, 'Plastic Bullets', an in-your-face instant punk classic and 'Lost in the Middle', a driving, garage-punk soundtrack to a love gone sour and 'Banana Tree', a true soul-inspired garage rocker.
Having just finished a run of Spanish shows in support of Swedish garage rock legend The Hellacopters, The Peawees have a few more European dates throughout the Summer, with more to be confirmed soon.
