The Kut Share New Single 'Runaways'

The Kut is back with her latest single ‘Runaways’. Written around a rolling bass line, the punk-pop track is a summer tip about hitting the road and never looking back. Produced by James LeRock Loughrey (Def Leppard/ Skindred) and featuring on their recent official UK number 1 rock album, ‘GRIT’ - the single comes after a intense 12 months for The Kut.

“Runaways is literally about hitting the road.. changing everything and leaving. it was very much post Warner, everything had gone wrong and I came to the realisation the only way to get the music out there was to hit the road and never look back. So that became the firestarter to that. I started working on the track ahead of a 37 summer date tour, the one we did travelling in my then Peugeot 307.  We played it every night and recorded a live demo of it in a studio mid tour, so to finally put the track on GRIT as a properly produced recording was an amazing feeling.”

In the last 12 months The Kut released her second album ‘GRIT’ to Official UK Number 1 Rock Album status, won two UKSC Awards in the UK Songwriting Contest and toured with her all-star collective supporting US rockers Electric Six and then iconic Japanese punk-pop band Shonen Knife.

The Kut’s latest record is described by Classic Rock Magazine as a "refreshing blast of female-driven punk-pop swagger”. The album tells the story of the journey so far, back from ground up, from the empowering rock ‘ANIMO' (meaning courage) to the anthemic tones of 'And 1 More' there’s a hefty dose of energy, unity and punk-rock spirit.

Subsequently, singles appeared on stations across the world including National US station Sirius XM. Fun When You’re Winning’ became a sporting hit, appearing on coverage of the FIFA World Cup, England Cricket, Diamond League Athletics on BBC 5 Live, Sky Sports, BBCiPlayer and ITV.
