The Glorious Sons have revealed the release date for their anticipated fourth studio album ‘Glory’ will be 06 September. The two-time JUNO Award-winning rock band have also unveiled another track and official video from the album, delivering ‘Dream’ as a further taste of what’s to come from the forthcoming release.

Lead singer / songwriter Brett Emmons says “This song is about fighting the power of nostalgia with a relentless struggle to stay present. “It’s all a dream” is a reminder that you must try and achieve being here right now, and if you can’t, you can always go back. I feel like anything good that happens to us requires an openness to the moment, or at least jolts you into the moment against your will. I didn’t want to just focus on the past in this song— though it would have felt good to puke my heart up. I wanted to re-establish the power of what it means to feel connected to the world around you now, and how that force can win out against the crushing dream state that is heartache and nostalgia.”

Last month, in partnership with Warner Music Canada and ADA, The Glorious Sons dropped current single ‘Mercy Mercy’ along with a visualiser. Produced by Emmons and Frederik Thaae ‘Mercy Mercy’ is a reflection of the struggles one faces, diving deep into the depths of the human experience, exploring themes of redemption, vulnerability, and the relentless pursuit of personal growth.  With its spirited chorus, and vast depth of artistic input, ‘Mercy Mercy’ is a sonic journey that demands to be heard.

Of the album, Emmons shares, “How do I feel about Glory? I’m glad it’s done. And I’m glad I still like the songs. It was one of those classic times in a band’s career where you have that awkward choice to either let go, or hold on as tightly as you can. We chose the latter. Every detail on this album was important to me— and though I can’t control how people will receive it, I did my best to control how kindly I look back on the music and the process. That was the most important thing this time around. When things don’t come easily, how do you respond? We were gritty as fuck, and we represented ourselves to the truest form possible. I guess that’s all just a long form way of describing growth. So there you go. It sounds like growth to me.”

In support of ‘Glory’, The Glorious Sons will be hitting the road for the North American run of The Glory Tour, visiting 57 cities in both the U.S. and Canada. The tour will feature a special hometown show, with the band taking over Kingston, ON’s Leon’s Centre on 31 December to ring in the New Year. The Glory Tour will feature special guests The Blue Stones and the Velveteers on select dates. Tickets are on-sale now at theglorioussons.com.
