"... these songs are catchy as hell"- That's Good Enough For Me
Pop-punks cutest couple The Dollyrots, Kelly Ogden (bass and vocals), and Luis Cabezas (guitar and vocals) announce a west coast tour this June with Diesel Boy and Go Better Go as support on select dates. The full list of dates is below, and tickets are available at: https://www.dollyrots.com/tour.
They are also releasing a lyric video for their pop and punked up version of Billy Bragg's “A New England” from their recent album release 'Night Owls' out now, watch it here: https://youtu.be/7lK5D1ac2V0?si=AP7P0ss22pccpAzo.
When asked about “A New England,” Ogden shares, “We’ve got a thing about wishing on stars; it’s been a reoccurring theme in our music since the start. “A New England” is, in our opinion, the greatest song ever written that mentions wishing on something in the sky. We wanted to make our version give a nod to Kirsty MacColl too, so this one includes the extra lyrics from hers. Because there’s never any shame in making a cover of a cover - if the originals are THAT good!”
On 'Night Owls,' the Dollyrots once again shine with the delivery of high-energy punk tracks, rowdy rockers, or introspective ballads. “Night Owls serves as a musical buffet, offering up tastes of different styles, though it’s not too heavy or a major shift in their sound by any means. Whether you’re a die-hard punk fan of all flavors or someone just dipping their toes into the genre, this album has a track that will resonate," says Folk n Rock.com.
